Description:
Direct RNA Solution is a RT-PCR ready RNA extraction solution. It can extract RNA from a variety of sample types, such as whole blood, tissues, body fluids, cultured cells, plant leaves, roots, flowers, fungi, and bacteria. It employs a unique method to release RNA from cells without lysing the cells. After a short incubation of the sample with the Direct RNA Solution, the RNA is released in the supernatant, which can be used directly in a standard RT-PCR, or frozen for long-term storage.
Direct RNA Solution Protocol
- Add Direct RNA Solution to the sample with the sample to the solution ratio (v/v) of 1:10. Mix well.
- Incubate at 37 °C for at least 30 min. For solid tissue samples, longer incubation time, e.g. overnight, is recommended.
- Vortex for 20 second and then spin at maximum speed for 2 min. Take the supernatant.
- RNA is stable in Direct RNA Solution and can be stored at -20 °C for a long term.
- Or use 1 µl of the supernatant as template in a standard RT-PCR reaction.
